World War One Battlefields

Verdun, the most emblematic battle of the First World War …. A hell of 300 days and 300 nights, for 300,000 dead and 400,000 wounded.

From February 21st to December 18th 1916, Verdun will be synonymous with combat, suffering and heroism.
Worldwide 1916 will be punctuated by the events of Verdun: capture of the Fort of Douaumont, seat of the Fort de Vaux, fights of Fleury.
From trenches to shell holes, fighters on both sides will experience the same horrors: thirst, mud, gas, bombing.
Verdun and its surroundings will remain forever marked by the terrible battles of 1914-1918.
